Top 5 Smart Trainer Styles
What the hell are ‘smart’ trainers? It sounds contradictory, as we know trainers as sports and performance-based footwear worn casually, while smart shoes are leather and are usually heeled and worn with trousers.
Right?
WRONG.
Conventions are old school. Designers now rely on innovation to succeed in this cut-throat industry. Everything is fused together and we, the consumer, gain with more options and competitive prices.
‘Smart Trainers’ bridge the gap between performance-based sneakers and more formal shoes. They are perfect to wear with trousers and jeans alike and can be seen in bars and clubs across London.
Dash your stinking Reebok Classics in the bin! Here is our pick of the bunch:
1. Swear
“Swear” is a British brand that have become world-renowned for their ‘pointy’ style shoe. They have rubber soles but look very dressy and are perfect if you’re looking to get into a club without having to wear shoes.
They combine block colour in a vibrant and striking way.

2. Pointer
Another British brand, Pointers clean and simple designs make them a perfect pair of smart trainers to wear with trousers. Their pattern detail vary as much as their styles.

3. Lacoste
Having experience in the fashion industry, Lacoste know how to make a classy fashion garment and their expertise is reflected in their trainers.
They hold a very ‘preppy’ feel due to Lacoste’s’ tennis heritage. These are very smart trainers indeed.

The “Alaric” from the Shofolk collection has been created in this special colourway exclusively for oki-ni. There are only 50 units of this shoe being produced and it is only available for purchase at oki-ni.com.
The shoe is made from premium suede and due to it’s hybrid nature, drawn from both sneaker and traditional footwear, this shoe will translate easily into any style of wardrobe.

5. Clae
Regarded as a pioneer of the “athleisure” footwear movement, 2001 saw Clae launch its never-before-seen hybrid collection that delivered the comfort of a sneaker with classic footwear styling, resulting in a new definition of casual.
Committed to quality, detail and style, Clae is returning after a three-year hiatus with some cult classics and newly-revamped models for a consumer market place craving a fresh take on footwear.
Again, great to wear with trousers, combats and jeans, this particular design is an effortlessly designed mesh of the classic British brogue shoe mixed with a flat American sneaker design.

Jimi Wallet
After seeing this neat little video on how the Jimi Wallet works, we had to include it as this week’s ‘Product of The Week’. (We both already have wallets, but for £11 each, Jimi knew he’ll be coming home with us…bloody marketing G’s!)And no, it’s not a condom holder. The Jimi Wallet is made from recycled plastic and is designed to hold five cards, four in the cardholder and one in the money clip, plus three folded bills. It also has a corner hole to allow a lanyard or key ring to be attached. Real men don’t carry coins. It’s waaaaaay to old school.
Lil Jimi measures 4” x 2.5” and 0.5” in depth.Pick one up here (and watch the animation on how Jimi works:)http://www.oki-ni.com/invt/jim0003bluAnd for more colours, check out this link:

Top 4 Men’s Bag Styles
Bags are a shady subject for men. But let’s remember, the last thing on is the first thing noticed. And with first impressions being so important in our busy society, it’s time that your bag stopped ruining things for your image. (If I catch anyone using a ‘Fitness First’ bag with a suit again, I’ll E-Honda Slap you.)
The majority of straight men think it’s too gay to hold certain bags, so you’ll seldom hear a conversation about ‘that new bag that’s hit the shops’. Also, the fact that there are so many different names for men’s bags makes it confusing to start shopping for them. Well not anymore.
Forget all the bag jargon you’ve been hearing, here are the top four bags that every man should be familiar with and own.
Remember these crucial basics; if you have a new found love for bags, go do your research and get creative.
1. Holdall
Also known as the weekend bag or Duffel, every man must own one of these. Ideal for business trips and weekend getaways, the holdall stylishly provides space for clothes, shoes, paperwork…everything really. It holds ‘all’.
Best carried with: Business/Casual clothes
2. Satchel
I’ve heard this being called a pouch, sling bag, messenger bag, shoulder bag and newsboy bag but don’t fret, just ask a sales assistant for a satchel and they’ll understand.
This is a common bag within city fashion. Worn across the chest or hanging from the shoulder, the satchel will always be a timeless bag. It also comes in a variety of styles; with multi-pockets, in leather or with imagery across its flap.
Best carried with: Street/Casual Wear
3. Briefcase
To be worn with a suit. And ONLY a suit. These are the oldest surviving “acceptable” handbags for men. Briefcases have evolved from the simple square box into more elegant and sleek shapes.
Comprising a classic leather interior, buckles and key locks, plus the efficiently integrated inside compartments, make the briefcase the top choice for the professional working man (or with a suit on the way to the Job Centre.)
Best carried with: Business Attire
4. Rucksack
Commonly known as ‘back-packs’, this is the more performance-based bag out of the bunch. Until recently, the rucksack was just used for carrying stuff up mountains and to the gym.
Now (as shown above in the form of the luxury Louis Vuitton option and the trendy American Apparel type), this baby has had a makeover to become an essential style accessory.
Best used for travelling, typical outdoor rucksacks have well-padded shoulder straps and extra zip compartments. .
Best Carried with: Street/Casual Wear
So there you have it, the basics on bags. There should be no excuses for supermarket carrier bags or Fitness First freebies from now on.
Thanks for reading lads.
As Always,
Stay Stylish
