Black Cotton Jacket by Gatsby

This week’s ‘Product of the Week comes from a great little boutique that we discovered over in Carnaby Street, London.
Luckily for you guys, they have a website, so we’ve picked out one of their best pieces- a tidy little men’s black jacket that deserves to get a lot more wear this winter.
It’s a stylish mix of cotton and leather, sporting a single dart at the back. It also features vintage-style elbow patches, a future trend that we predict will be popping up everywhere very soon.
So to make sure your ahead of the game snap yours up here. BTW, did we mention it’s now less than half price from from £317.50 (yes we know, why the 50p?) to £150. Who said the credit crunch was bad?

Top Six Men’s Wallet Styles

We are bizack yet again my style pioneers! This week’s informative post touches on the current economical climate…Money. Paper. Cheese. Doh. Cash. Or in our case, hard shiny coppers.
A man’s style is judged as much on his choice of accessories as the actual clothes on his back. Pick your accessories correctly and you’ll add tonnes of weight to your style game.
People really notice the details, especially women. Whether you’re on the dole or pulling in those six figures, every man must own a decent wallet. One that matches the lifestyle of its owner and does everything it needs to, nice and snuggly.
Here are the six main wallet types available to men. Every man needs at least one, but it may make sense to pick up different types for different occasions. Know your wallet types and stop going to ‘Next’ every year. There’s no shortage of wallets out there for you. You’re worth more.
Tri Fold

‘Tri’ obviously meaning three, not some nonsense text language for ‘attempt’. This is usually the cheapest option as it is geared towards the younger generation and teenagers. Reason being, it is only suitable for a limited number of cards, maybe about six. When folded up it is rather bulky; there’s no compartment for loose change, unless you want to stuff your change into the zip compartment that runs right along the back and make it even bigger then it already is.
These are unisex wallets and can be found in nylon, with graphics over them and can also have velcro to keep it closed and secure.
Bi Fold

You filthy buggers. There is no sexual connotation with the word ‘bi’. Bi-fold wallets are the most commonly used men’s wallet and are mainly produced in leather. They just fold over the one single time. They have stayed the same since the introduction of the credit card back in 50′s.
Like the tri-fold, they too come in two variants, the Plain Bi Fold and the Bi Fold ‘Coin’ Wallet. Our preferred choice is the coin wallet, as it can hold loose change that always comes in handy. Clear windows on the inside also allow space for I.D and they fit into most back pockets on jeans and inside blazer pockets. Perfect.
Checkbook Wallet

Also known as the Travel Wallet, it was designed to hold larger documents such as cheque books, tickets and passports on one side, with the conventional credit card slots on the other. It’s good for travelling as it keeps everything together, but useless as a general wallet.
It can only fit in the inside pocket of jackets and coats (and even that isn’t a sure bet with all jackets) and will only make you look like a poser if you try to let it stick out from your back jean pocket, that’s moments before it got pick-pocketed from you.
Coin Holder Wallet

Designed mainly for loose change, the Coin Holder Wallet is another classic. An organised man wouldn’t like this wallet, as it doesn’t compartmentalise things. You simply unzip it and dump everything in it, then zip it up again.
When it’s full up, it can be a nightmare to open in a rush, as things things fly about the place. Just use it for change please guys.
Card Holder

The slickest and thinnest wallet of them all; the card holder does exactly what it boasts… and only that; holds cards. Used by bankers and big business men alike, the card holder is popular with what I like to call the ‘Plastic People’. Those that just swipe their way through life.
Great if you live like that, but bad if you need 99p for milk from Mr Patel’s sweet shop.
Money Clip

The option for the ‘Big Dawgs’. The money clip is more style than substance, but hey that’s not a bad thing. Grouping all your paper money together in one thick wad is a sure sign of wealth.
This one is for the old school guy that just rolls with cash. Not me.

Online Stores
Recently, we have had a few people asking us where to shop online.
For those of us in the UK, the best place is probably www.asos.com.
However, that doesnt exactly cover the globe.
We want to know what’s your favourite store to shop online and why?
What problems do you have with cyber shopping, if any?
What would you like to see in those online stores?
For example, we would like to see a store that is dedicated to up-and-coming designers (at affordable prices)

New Year’s Resolution – CHANGE
This week’s quick-read post, inspired by the Inauguration of President Obama, it is simply about ‘Change’. There is no use reading about HOW to up your style game if you don’t actually DO it. Knowledge is only the potential of results.
“An educated man is not one who knows a lot. An educated man is one who ACTS on what he knows” (this is from a really good self-development book that I can’t remember the name of).
Follow our 10 tips and change the way you look and feel for the better. Feel free to post your comments and add your own tips on positive change.
Here goes. No looking back mudda-bitches!!!
1. Join the Gym - And stick to it. Clothes will ALWAYS look better with a fitter body. No extremities though. We don’t want you ending up looking this. Get a yearly plan worked out with a fitness instructor.
2. Try out a new piece of clothing - You never know, it may look good! That could be a colour, an accessory or a particular style. We grow by making mistakes and learning from them. Let’s not be drones!
3. ASK - If someone has something on that you like, ASK them where they got it from. You’ll be surprised how many times people appreciate the compliment and will willingly tell you (though if they say abroad, they’re usually lying.)
4. Join the Forum – and tell us what you want to know. It’s all about the wisdom of crowds, collective knowledge is strong, mighty mouse strong. There you can ask us where to get something or even how good or bad something looks.
5. Try out a new store - Simply walk into a shop that you have never visited before. Again, it’s about stepping out of your comfort zone, but that’s the beauty of it. You never know what you may find in a new store. Sticking to the same old shops will keep you in line like sheep alongside everyone else. Be a leader not a follower!
6. Look for colour combinations in advertising - Adverts are designed by graphic designers. Most of the time they have a great understanding of colours and the psychology behind them. Check out how certain colours work with each other on logos, billboards etc, and figure out if you can pull it off in an outfit.
7. Don’t just wear black - Too many guys resort to wearing black all the time when they go out because the think it looks slick. But, if everyone in the club is wearing black it’s NOT slick…it’s SHIT! Next time you reach for the black shirt or top, think about what else you could wear. Add some colour and personality to your look.
8. Visit a vintage store - For those of you who do, it’s a great thing. For a lot of people, it’s a place that reminds them of piss-smelling, second-hand clothes. But, contrary to popular belief, it’s a place filled with unique pieces. Even if you have a problem wearing used clothes, then at least pay a visit and pick up an accessory- something like a tie. It will never touch your body, you posh wannabes!
9. Give a piece of clothing you never wear to a charity store - We do it as often as we can. It may be those trainers that you feel you can wear one last time. Well it had its last time three years ago. ….it’s time to let go! There are loads of people out their that would benefit from what you never wear, so share.
10. Spread the love - It would be greatly appreciated if you could spread the word about our blog. The more people we can help, the better it is for everyone. Our mission is to change the face of British men’s style, and it begins with you guys, help us out lads! You know you want to.
Change my people, change. No doubts please. “Yes You Can”
