Top 4 Fit Tips For The Larger Man

Just like texting on the iPhone, style can be a tricky one to get right. Swagger and confidence play a massive part in everyone’s personal style, but if you fail to apply it in correlation to your body shape, then it’s as useful as this Chinese Chin Rest.
So this week we bring you the rules and fit-tips which are essential for the larger man. Little tweaks that will help all those big-boned (and pot-bellied) men look a lot better in their clothes.
Not a big fella? No probs- just send the link to this article to someone that is. They’ll pretend to be offended, but they’ll use the info wisely. Harsh love is the only way sometimes.
So fellas, what are you waiting for? Not more pies I hope!
1. Get your blazer length right

Nothing is worse than having your arse looking like it’s FORCING it’s way out of your body. So make sure your blazer falls just below your buttocks to keep them concealed.
2. Only vertical stripes work

Avoid horizontal stripes as they accentuate the width of your chest or gut. Instead, stick with vertical stripes that lengthen your body by drawing the eyes downwards and not sideways. Pinstripes suits and shirts are a good choice.
3. Bulky Sweaters make you look fatter

Avoid bulky fabrics on top, as it only adds to the weight of your look. Stick to light-weight materials and layer up if it’s cold. You don’t want people to think you want to look like him under those clothes. OK? Good.
4. Pick single vents

If you have a large ass then avoid double-vented jackets. They add more bulk to your rear by flapping over it and showing its shape. Instead, use a single-vented blazer which closes the back of the blazer around your bum.
As Always,

Charity Shop Shopping Tips – Individualism Out & About
As you may have noticed we have a brand new title banner which I must admit I’m very pround of. It’s just a small feature which we’d thought would help you find these posts a little easier (and nothing to do with getting another opportunity to spread our ugly mugs all over the web).
As previously stated, we are going through a lot of changes, so expect to see a lot of new tweeks around the site in the coming weeks. Anyway onto this week’s video.
Many guys wouldn’t dare enter a charity shop when looking to put an outfit together. Maybe it’s the store layout, maybe the obscene stench of urine, but whatever the reason, people just don’t tend to hold them in high regard.
However I like to think of them as treasure troves for truly unqiue pieces.
Check out what I found when visiting my local store.

Individualism.co.uk’s Birthday – We are 1 years old!
Can you believe that it’s been one whole year already? Well, not exactly- to be honest we have been sooo busy getting new content for you guys that like a terrible husband that forgets his wedding anniversary, we actuaclly missed the offical date which was August 6.
But to celebrate our first birthday, we are holding a party in Mayfai……Only joking- who do you think we are?!
None of that summer party nonsense. We are though going to be holding an event which you guys will find out about this week but it’s not linked in with our birthday.
Instead we’ve compiled a list of our Top 10 Posts from over the last year. For the newbies, this is an opportunity to discover some of the posts we’ve written (we concentrate on teaching you guys about timeless style so all are still very much relevent today.)
And for the Victor Meldrews’ out there who’ve been with us from the beginning, it’s a chance to recap on some of the old stuff and see how far you’ve come.
Anyway we hope you enjoy.
Thanks again for all the support. Here’s to another successful year!

Top 5 Casual Shirt Styles
As much as you guys should know that a man’s suit is his ‘armour’, there are days when we are not at battle (well, most of us anyway) and need to step out of the uniform and into some comfortable clobber.
Jeans are the first choice for casual bottoms, but what about the top half? Drum roll please…
It’s all about casual shirts! There are a few casual shirt styles that are as essential to know as learning how to go to toilet so here they are and be sure to pay attention, because once you’ve read the post, you’ll need to go get at least three to give your wardrobe some variation…
1. White T-Shirt
The white T-shirt is a classic men’s staple. Every guy should own at least one. The key here though is to get a good fitted tee that’s not too loose around the neck. It should hug well but not like Simon Cowell’s and it shouldn’t be too loose that you’re rivaling Juelz Santana in the hip hop stakes. When rocked right, there’s nothing that looks more cooler and cleaner. Think Marlon Brando or James Dean.
2. The V-Neck
The V-Neck T-shirt is another great casual style. It offers something a little different as the collar dips, helping to add a little depth while accentuating the chest. Avoid if you have excessive chest hair that can house woodland creatures. As much as our mum endorses it, ‘The Bollywood Hunk’ look is not a great achievement.
3. The Polo
The polo is another classic, but it is so often underratted. They come in a variety of colours, patterns, hues and shades. Did we mention that you can wear them with almost anything?
4. The Henley
A real casual piece is the Henley. Like Kristen Kreuk, its mixed heritage is something that makes it that much more special. A cross between a T-shirt and a button-down shirt, the Henley is a great weekend staple. Just promise us you’ll wear it unbuttoned.
5. The Rugby
A great alternative to a polo, the rugby top is another casual shirt that can be dressed up a little and it’s become a little trend over the last couple of years too.
