Banana Republic vs Blue Inc – Week 1
Good Look /Bad Look is our brand new weekly post and it came about from all the small tips we’d pick up throughout our week that didn’t seem to fit into a relevant article, but knew would still add value.
Over the week, we’d see so many fatal flaws- terrible examples of how to go about your daily style lives which, if executed properly, could teach many great lessons.
So we thought we’d combine all the great, the good and the ugly things we picked up, noticed, witnessed, been exposed to and even discovered during the week and place them into a post which could benefit everyone.
It’s also designed to get you guys involved too; send in your own ‘Good Look Bad Looks’ and each week, we’ll reward the best entries with a spot on our blog. (contact@individualism.co.uk)
We’re getting all philosophical on you now, all that collective conscious stuff. Anyhow, with everyone’s lessons, we can all learn a little bit more. So here’s to sharing our collective knowledge and spreading positivity.
So, without further ado, drum roll please- here’s our first Good Look /Bad Look:
GOOD LOOK BAD LOOK
Good Look
Love the neutral grey on these Banana Republic boat shoes. It provides a nice alternative to traditional navy while adding a touch of formaility to the style. And the use of patterns in this ‘H&M’ scarf flawlessly compliments the grey blazer and purple cardigan. A touch of layering here too. Take notes fellas!
Bad Look
Jamaican colour desert boots just ain’t a stylish combination. We love Clarks for creating the style and taking a chance but this is one chance too far and don’t get us started on those head turners in the background…
Secondly, another ‘Blue Inc’ just means more guys walking round with pillified jumpers. Did you know that every time they open a new ‘Blue Inc’ someone somewhere dies?!

Resistance Knitted Fairisle Cardigan
Just like 100,000 other blogs, we’ve given in and are doing a Christmas-themed post. But rather than write about tips on how to Christmas shop or how to hide the pounds, we’re keeping it simple. We’ve managed to find a festive-looking piece for our ‘Product Of The Week’ that will help you stand out in all the right ways.
Sporting a Scottish Fairisle print, this narrow, double-breasted cardigan features all the traditional Xmas colours. Its soft mid-weight angora and wool mix makes it the perfect winter staple to hit the frontline in the war against old Jack Frost. A thick cream shawl collar and blue and red stripe detailing finish off the unique pattern combination.
Its price of £379.00 may turn some heads away, damn it may even re-shape some heads, but there’s no doubt that those who see past the price range will be picking up a real show stopper!
Snap it up at Oki-Ni now.

Franklin & Marshall Aubergine Cardigan

If I’m being honest, I’m not a massive fan of having a brand plastered across my chest. It screams: “I have no style, so I’ll stick with the safety of a named brand.”
However, Franklin and Marshall seem to have found the right balance. The F&M logo doesn’t really detract from the style of the garment. The aubergine (sorry, but who the hell creates these colour names? I need to trademark ‘baby shit green’) and navy colour way is an interesting colour combo and one that works rather well.
The two slit pockets are perfect for holding your iPod, and the shawl collar gives it a modern feel. All in all, it’s a great piece to chuck over a T-shirt or shirt when you’re in a hurry to buy some milk in the morning.
The east end sounding website Coggles.com are shifting them for few bob.
As Always,

80’s Multi-Coloured Chunky Knit Cardigan by Rokit – Product Of The Week
Earlier this week I went shopping and chose to wear a shirt and V-neck sweater which, from what the weather was saying, seemed to be a reasonable choice.
Coming home however, was a totally different story. For starters, I have less body fat than this guy. Where some people can firm the icy weather with maybe just a sweater, I start catching arthritis.
Each and every year there comes a single day, which confirms that summer (like those sometimeish friends) has gone, not to poke its head for another six months. That day was last Monday.
And so, one of the easiest ways to coast through Autumn/Winter is to layer. Layering allows you to change as the temperature does. We all know it’s not exactly winter yet but at the same time it’s not going to be blazing hot like it was a few months back.
So as temperatures fluctuate throughout the day, you can keep in tune by either throwing on an extra layer or taking one off.
This brings us on to cardigans and this week’s ‘P.O.T.W’. Cardigans are the perfect layering piece. So you’ll be right at home with this handsome vintage 80’s style checkered cardigan. There are two great things about vintage:
1. It’s cheap.
2. It’s more than likely going to be a truly unique piece that no else will have.
At a mere £25 this is definitely a cool winter investment. Head over to our pals at Rokit to make a purchase.
As always,

B-Store Double-Breasted Cardigan – Product Of The Week
Like GQ’s International Man of the Year (Micky Rouke), double-breasted garments are enjoying a successful comeback.
From classic shaped tailored suit jackets to lean, fashion-forward topcoats, the double-breasted design is one that is affecting everything in menswear and this week’s ‘P.O.T.W’. shows that it has even managed to weave its way through to knitwear.
B-STORE’S double-breasted sweatshirt/cardigan may not be as outrageously colourful as last week’s ‘P.O.T.W‘, but what it lacks in colour it more than makes up for in charm.
The navy/white colourway is a classic look and one that will stand the test of time. It’s thin enough to be used as an inner-layering piece, yet stylish enough for you to choose to wear as an outer. And at 50% off too, you’d be a fool to pass up this offer.
