Top 4 Men’s Style Video Podcasts

If you’re not familiar with the term ‘video podcast’, then you’re probably still wearing LA Gear Lights, in which case, I pity you and won’t tell you that I think you’re sad and need a slap.
Video Podcasts are simply video clips which are delivered to your iPod (Please tell me you know what an iPod is? Please?) Every time you plug it into your computer, it enables you to watch the content.
Here are our Top 4 Men’s Style Video Podcasts. We feel that these podcasts provide clear, educational, engaging and entertaining information on men’s style that can aid you on your journey toward style perfection.
Subscribe to them, have a look and keep the ones that you like. By watching just a few of these podcasts a week, it’s amazing how much you will learn in a year. Trade those LA Gear Lights for some life upgrading info! (I bet LA Gear Lights make a comeback soon. Wait and see.)
1. Style.com – In the closet

The big guns at Style.com, GQ, or whatever you want to call them, are leading the way. Although they don’t publish very often, when the do, it’s a good watch. Ranging from store tours to packing tips, you can be sure that all the presenters have a wealth of knowledge and they bring it to you in a fun, gentlemanly style. Their podcasts are split into two; ‘In the Closet’ and ‘Fashion, Gear & Style for Men’. Subscribe here.
2. Frontline TV

A gem I found whilst flicking though people’s blog posts. This Scandinavian video podcast features videos that focus on the creative scene -from interviews with Cheap Monday to coverage of Bread and Butter. It’s a great example of web 2.0 and how similar passions are connecting people across the world. Plus it’s great to view content outside of the UK and US for once!
Check their site out here.
3. Monocle Edits

I’m a little late with this beauty, but from what I’ve viewed so far, there are some great feature videos. It has a strong British-feel from the style editing all the way through to the script – these are formal, no nonsense, fact-based videos.
Although it may seem to lack a little character, it’s always packed with great knowledge and information. Subscribe here.
4. Cool Hunting

Cool Hunting is more art-based than fashion and style. However, when the hunters of cool do touch a style-based subject, they do it large. Having a well-connected and followed blog means that when these guys produce a video it needs to have a massive USP.

Style.com iPhone App
I think I may have done a Canibus on Reuben and all his Blackberry fans. It’s second round knockout (Well if you’re a style fanatic that is).
Style.com recently released a brand spanking new application on the iPhone and to be honest, it’s geared more towards women, but for us stylish guys, it kills two birds with one stone.
It’s perfect for turning down the volume on your female partner, keeping her occupied while you’re waiting for that one bus that just won’t turn up. And when your waiting on her, you can pass the time by checking out the latest menswear collections! Here’s what you can enjoy from the stylish app.
1. Fashion Shows – Complete coverage of every major collection – WOMEN
2. Parties – Photos and reports from the social scene – WOMEN
3. Look of the Day – Vote for your favorite fashion moment – WOMEN
4. Men’s Fashion – In-depth coverage of the top menswear shows. Just touch the designer you want to view and their entire collection will appear in thumbnail form first. Click again to see full size images of each look. – OBVIOUS!
5. Style File Blog – The latest fashion news from around the globe. MEN & WOMEN
6. Style Videos – Exclusive runway video and front row feedback from the top shows – MEN & WOMEN
The main reason I use this app is because it provides you with pocket inspiration; you don’t have to copy it look-for-look, but I find it especially useful when I’m shopping around and need a burst of creativity. It’s perfect to flick through when you’re bored at a station, helping you understand colours and layering, while keeping you on top of trends (not that you should strictly follow them, but it’s good to know what’s modern and available in stores).
Check out the promo video to take a real look here.

iPhone Shoelace App
Ever since we were kids, Reuben and I have been fighting; from arguing if Panthro was better than Tigra, Jordan better than Pippen, Nike Blazers or Puma Skys…just about anything. Over the years, we’ve managed to tone down the intensity of our debates and have learned to appreciate each others’ point of view. However, there is one argument that still rages on and seems to bring out our inner demon fox.
The iPhone v Blackberry debate.
This is a debate that is bigger than the both of us. Boasting army’s of fanatic followers who’ll put their life on the line to prove their alliances. However, I think with this post I may be shifting the balance. The iPhone has just been blessed with a brand spanking new application, Ian’s Laces App, which provides you with a vast array of unique shoe lace styles.
Head over to the official website to find out more.
1-0 to the iPhone.

Freehands Leather Gloves
Seeing as we created our last informative article on gloves, we thought we’d base this week’s P.O.T.W. around the same damn thing.
Now it may not come from an innovative, up-and-coming British designer, but the product itself is most definitely unique.
As mentioned in our last post about the top five gloves for men, if you’re a person who is constantly using their phone, you will get along well with a pair of fingerless gloves.
Some people try to use mittens that double-up as fingerless gloves, but the problem is that their thumbs are still covered and unless you’re a whiz with the rest of your fingers. you’re still going to have trouble using your phone.
But hope is on the horizon as this week’s Product of the Week defies all conventions; a glove specially designed with phone users in mind.
It has removable caps at the end of your thumbs and forefingers and its elastic wrists trap heat and the plastic hook and loop hold the gloves together when you put them away.
It’s a perfect fusion of design and functionality. I know what you’re thinking, ‘How comes no-one has ever thought of that before?’ Well, let’s just shut our mouth and not complain. Just make sure you are the first one to buy a pair before they become a bloody ‘trend’.
Grab yours here or type in ‘Freehands Gloves’ into the eBay search bar.
Until next week…

Jimi Wallet
After seeing this neat little video on how the Jimi Wallet works, we had to include it as this week’s ‘Product of The Week’. (We both already have wallets, but for £11 each, Jimi knew he’ll be coming home with us…bloody marketing G’s!)And no, it’s not a condom holder. The Jimi Wallet is made from recycled plastic and is designed to hold five cards, four in the cardholder and one in the money clip, plus three folded bills. It also has a corner hole to allow a lanyard or key ring to be attached. Real men don’t carry coins. It’s waaaaaay to old school.
Lil Jimi measures 4” x 2.5” and 0.5” in depth.Pick one up here (and watch the animation on how Jimi works:)http://www.oki-ni.com/invt/jim0003bluAnd for more colours, check out this link:
